Five Ways to Better Your Wellbeing
World Wellbeing Week begins 26th June and is a week to celebrate all aspects of wellbeing.
Some of us might take this time to better our wellbeing, be it personal, physical, mental, financial, social or environmental. Wellbeing has never been so important for society as a whole – and rightly so – but such immense importance often comes pressure to feel like we have it nailed when in reality, we might not be quite there yet.
Wellbeing is a constant work in progress, whichever aspect you’re working on. Here’s five ways to look after your wellbeing this week, and for future weeks to come…

- Open up the conversation
Invite your friends over and just talk. It’s so simple yet so effective. Wrapping up in your dressing down and sitting down with a cup of tea to have an open and honest check in with those who you are closest to will have incredible benefits for your mental health.
- Do that thing you’ve always wanted to do
Wish you’d kept going with those golf lessons? Always wanted to learn a new language? What better time to start than now?! Learning and being creative helps exercise our brain and reignite the passion that fuels our personal sense of achievement and fulfillment, which is essential for our wellbeing.
- Practice mindfulness
Mindfulness is a type of meditation which essentially allows us to live in the moment. Mindfulness can look different for everyone, but making a conscious effort to leave your phone at home, sit in the park or garden and focus on your breathing and the sounds around you will keep you grounded and focused on your state of mind.
- Get moving
Physical exercise is great for many reasons. Moving your body releases feel-good hormones, boosts self-esteem and connects you with others. Joining a local running club, walking your dog or signing up to your first ever yoga class will uplift your mood and better your overall wellbeing.
